Addressing the media, Gogoi said the Raijor Dal government would not only continue the Orunodoi scheme but significantly strengthen it. “I want to make one thing absolutely clear, if Raijor Dal comes to power in 2026, the Orunodoi scheme will continue,” he said.

Targeting the current implementation, Gogoi alleged that a large section of deserving beneficiaries has been excluded. “At present, not even half of the women in Assam receive Orunodoi benefits. We guarantee that under our government, 100 per cent of eligible women will be covered,” he stated.

In a key financial promise, Gogoi said the monthly assistance would be increased from Rs 1,250 to Rs 3,000. “It will not be Rs 1,250. Every woman will receive Rs 3,000,” he said.

The Raijor Dal leader also announced an expansion of the scheme’s coverage to include elderly farmers above 65 years of age and persons with physical disabilities. “Every farmer over 65 and every physically disabled person will also be included under Orunodoi,” he added.
