"A woman from Morigaon district has apologized after demanding justice for late singer Zubeen Garg during a public meeting attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.Advertisment The incident occurred last Saturday at Mikirbheta during a Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Scheme event. Amid the gathering, where women were being distributed cheques under the government initiative, a Village Defence Party (VDP) member identified as Maina Begum (also known as Abeda Ahmed) suddenly raised her voice from the audience and shouted, “Mama, we don"t need the Orunodoi scheme, we want justice for Zubeen Garg!” Her unexpected appeal for justice during the Chief Minister"s presence created a stir both at the venue and on social media. Soon after the incident, a police team reportedly visited her residence for questioning. In her clarification, she said, “At the Mukhyamantri Udyamita Scheme event in Mikirbheta, I became emotional. When the CM arrived, I too shouted "Narendra Modi Zindabad" with the crowd. But in that moment of emotion, I also joined in chanting for Zubeen Da"s justice.” She added, “It was not intentional; it happened in the heat of the moment. I seek forgiveness for my unintentional act. If anyone, including the Chief Minister, felt hurt, I sincerely apologize. He also launched the distribution of the first instalment of seed capital under the Mukhyamatri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA), where he presented cheques worth Rs. 10,000 to each of the 36,367 female beneficiaries of the Morigaon Legislative Assembly constituency, including 32,951 from rural areas and 3,416 from urban areas. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation for a new circuit house in Morigaon, involving a financial outlay of Rs 15 crore."
