Assam: Anonymous Email Triggers Bomb Scare at Hailakandi District Court

An anonymous email threatening bomb blasts at Hailakandi District Court triggered a security alert. Police tightened checks as a cyber cell began tracing the source.

A wave of tension swept through Hailakandi on Wednesday after authorities received an anonymous email warning of a possible bomb attack at the District Court complex, prompting swift security measures and an intensive investigation.

As per reports, the email, sent from an unidentified source, claimed that three explosive devices would be detonated inside the court premises around 1:35 pm. The message also referred to the possibility of a suicide bombing and reportedly invoked the name “LTTE,” raising serious concerns.

Following the alert, police and district administration teams were immediately deployed to the court complex. Security was tightened in and around the area, with entry and movement being closely regulated as a precaution. The premises were placed under strict surveillance while officials assessed the potential threat.

Treating the matter with utmost seriousness, a special cyber cell has been assigned to trace the origin of the email and identify those responsible. 

No suspicious objects or incidents were reported during the security checks. Authorities later confirmed that the situation remained under control and urged residents not to panic.
