The campaign took place in the Amolapatty and Santipara neighbourhoods as part of a city-wide anti-rabies initiative.

Aimed at controlling rabies and improving the health of stray animals, the initiative has immunised approximately 400 dogs since its launch, with plans to extend coverage across all areas of the city in the coming days.

The ongoing effort has already reached several key locations, including Seujpur, Naliapool, Running Shed Gate, and BNP School Road. In Santipara, the drive covered areas such as Banshbari, KP Road, Shubhashpalli, Belpatti, Tarun Samiti Lane, Bani Sadan Road, Baruah Pathar, and the vending zone. Monday’s operations targeted the Amolapatty Rail Gate area, with partial coverage in Chiring Chapori.

The Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation has played a pivotal role in coordinating logistics for the large-scale campaign.

Officials stated that regular vaccinations are essential to prevent rabies transmission and maintain the safety of locals as well as other animals.

District officials claimed that they were fully committed to this effort until every part of Dibrugarh was covered.

It may be mentioned that often rabies in several parts of the state is ignored, which eventually leads to severe consequences.
