Breaking new ground, the Assam government took the decision on January 1 to move forward with the formation of the 8th Assam Pay Commission.

The commission will be constituted under the chairmanship of Subhas Das, former Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam. The decision reflects the state government’s proactive approach towards addressing issues related to pay structure, allowances, and service conditions of state government employees.

The development is expected to benefit a large number of state government employees and pensioners in the coming years.
