Assam CM Condoles Ajit Pawar’s Death, Hails His Public Service

Ajit Pawar, a senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, died along with four others when the aircraft he was travelling in crashed while attempting to land near Baramati airport on Tuesday morning.

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who was killed in a plane crash near Baramati.

In a condolence message, Sarma described Pawar as a seasoned political leader who dedicated his life to public service and the welfare of the people. He said Pawar’s contributions to governance and the development of Maharashtra would be remembered for years to come.

The Assam Chief Minister extended his condolences to Pawar’s family, supporters, and the people of Maharashtra, stating that his thoughts and prayers were with them during this moment of deep sorrow.

“Deeply pained by the passing away of Ajit Pawar ji, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, in an unfortunate plane crash this morning. A seasoned leader who devoted his life to public service and the welfare of the people, his contributions to the state’s development and governance have left a lasting imprint. May he attain sadgati. Om Shanti,” Sarma posted on X.

The Learjet 45 aircraft, operated by VSR, had taken off from Mumbai at around 8 am and went down approximately 45 minutes later during its landing approach. Pawar was en route to Baramati to attend a series of public programmes ahead of the local body elections.
