Of the total candidates, 1,90,243 are boys and 2,48,322 are girls. The examinations are being conducted at 1,044 centres across the state, marking an increase of 117 additional centres compared to the previous year, reflecting the rising number of examinees.

The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has introduced several new regulations this year to ensure transparency and curb malpractices. Question papers will be provided separately in each language, and strict guidelines have been issued for centre in-charges and invigilators.

In a significant move, private school premises will not be used as examination centres this year, and teachers from private schools will not be appointed as invigilators. The exams will be conducted entirely by government school teachers, including newly recruited educators, who will shoulder responsibilities related to centre management and supervision.

The board have taken special measures to ensure fair and transparent examinations, especially amid the ongoing election atmosphere. Officials have warned that attempts may be made by vested interests to disrupt the examination process, and strict action will be taken against any irregularities.

Teachers and centre controllers have been instructed that they cannot delegate their responsibilities to any other personnel, and any lapse in examination control will not be tolerated. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in rooms where question papers are stored, and invigilators have been directed to ensure that CCTV surveillance is functional in rooms where answer scripts are kept.

The state government has emphasised that the success of the examination depends heavily on the responsibility and integrity of teachers, as administrative support may be limited due to election-related engagements.
