Of these, 12,572,583 are male and 12,629,041 are femaleDY365 Dec 28, 2025 20:19 ISTThe Claims and Objections period started on December 27, 2025, and will continue until January 22, 2026The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Assam, has released the Draft Electoral Roll for the Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2026, following a state-wide House-to-House (H2H) verification exercise.AdvertismentThis marks the beginning of the “Revision” phase, allowing citizens to submit claims and objections to ensure the accuracy of the electoral roll.According to the CEO’s office, the draft roll lists 25,201,624 electors, showing a 1.35% increase compared to the previous final roll published on January 5, 2025. Of these, 12,572,583 are male and 12,629,041 are female.During the H2H verification conducted from November 22 to December 20, 2025, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) identified 478,992 deceased electors and 523,680 electors who had shifted residence. The CEO clarified that these names have not yet been deleted or moved; they will only be processed after formal applications are received during the Claims and Objections period.Citizens are urged to submit the following forms to correct the draft roll:Form 7 (Objection/Deletion): To remove the names of deceased electors.Form 8 (Shifting/Correction): For electors who have changed their residence within or outside the constituency.The Claims and Objections period started on December 27, 2025, and will continue until January 22, 2026.
