Some hostel inmates noticed his condition and immediately raised an alarm, following which the hostel warden and school authorities rushed to the spot and rescued him.The student was initially taken to the Oil Hospital in Duliajan for emergency treatment. Due to his critical condition, he was later referred to a private hospital in Dibrugarh, where he is currently undergoing treatment on ventilator support.Meanwhile, the family members have refused to accept the incident as a suicide attempt and have alleged that it may have been a planned act of murder.“I am sure this was an attempt to kill our son, and they tried to portray it as a suicide attempt,” a family member alleged, questioning why the police were not immediately informed.“We suspect that he was assaulted and then hanged with a muffler. This is suspicious, and we will lodge an FIR against the authorities,” the family member added.The family has lodged an FIR at the Tingrai Police Station, demanding a thorough investigation into the matter.Senior police officials visited the school, and a forensic team from Lahowal has begun its probe. The team reportedly recovered a muffler and a pair of shoes from the hostel premises as part of the investigation.Meanwhile, the principal of Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya expressed shock and trauma over the incident and hoped for the student’s recovery.“He used to come to my office and play around the campus. Everything was normal until yesterday morning.
