Assam: Drugs, Alcohol Allegedly Used in Duliajan Killing; Two Women Arrested

According to police sources, the two accused, identified as Akashitora Saora of Harihar Path and Baby Nahardeka from the Oil Officers’ Residential Area Servant Quarters, have been taken into custody.

Guwahati: A suspected murder case has sent shockwaves through Duliajan after two young women were arrested in connection with the death of a resident. The deceased person has been identified as Lucky Chaliha from the Natun Para area of Duliajan in Assam.

According to police sources, the two accused, identified as Akashitora Saora of Harihar Path and Baby Nahardeka from the Oil Officers’ Residential Area Servant Quarters, have been taken into custody. They are currently undergoing prolonged interrogation at Duliajan Police Station as the investigation continues.

As stated in the First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the victim’s family, the accused allegedly gave Chaliha alcohol before administering an injection suspected to contain drugs. She was later taken to the Oil India Hospital in Duliajan in an unconscious state. However, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

The deceased is survived by her two-year-old daughter, who is reported to be safe and in stable condition.

Police have sent the body to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and ascertain the motive behind the alleged crime.

Further developments are awaited as police continue their probe into the disturbing incident.
