Assam youth's tragic end: Foul play suspected in Odisha death

The lifeless body of Sonirika Chauhan, a 31-year-old resident of Jagiroad, Assam, was recovered from Bhadrak Railway Station in Odisha, sparking widespread outrage and demands for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Chauhan had left for Kerala on November 7, seeking better job prospects, but met with a tragic end. His family suspects foul play and believes he was murdered, citing the suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Under the Assam Government's Shraddhanjali Scheme and the supervision of Minister Pijush Hazarika, Chauhan's body was brought back to his hometown, where it was received with great sorrow.

The local community and Chauhan's family are outraged, demanding justice and a proper investigation into the incident. "We want the authorities to get to the bottom of this and ensure that those responsible are brought to book," said a family member.

The young man's death has cast a pall of grief over the entire area, with his aged parents and family members heartbroken by the tragedy. Chauhan's demise has also raised concerns about the safety of migrant workers and the need for better protection and support mechanisms.
