The confrontation began when a youth identified as DK Basumatary arrived at a local eatery near the Ganeshguri flyover with a friend for dinner. According to eyewitness accounts, a three-member group already present at the scene was engaged in a heated argument with the shopkeeper. The situation took a turn for the worse when the trio allegedly shoved Basumatary’s friend without provocation after finishing their meal.As the argument escalated, the group of three reportedly made several phone calls to summon reinforcements. Within minutes, a larger group of youths arrived at the spot in luxury cars and motorcycles, including Royal Enfield bikes. Acting on the complaint, the Dispur Police conducted a late-night operation and apprehended six individuals.
