Kaziranga National Park's Kohora forest range reopens to tourists from today

The central range of Kaziranga National Park in Assam, specifically the Kohora forest area, has re-opened its gates to visitors from today. The opening ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries.

The Kohora forest area, the central range of Kaziranga National Park, Assam, has been re-opened to visitors from today. The forest area was formally inaugurated by Minister of Environment and Forest of Assam, Chandramohan Patowary in the presence of dignitaries including MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Ministers Atul Bora and Kesab Mahanta, and MLA Dorsing Ronghang.

During the inauguration ceremony, the minister inaugurated the entrance gate, marking the beginning of the tourist season. Jeep safaris are opened for tourists to enjoy the natural beauty of the park.

In a significant development, private elephant safaris have been opened in Bagori and Burapahar forest areas, while departmental elephant safari has been opened in Kohora forest area, providing tourists with an exciting way to explore the park's wildlife.

The reopening of the park is expected to boost tourism in the region, with everyone expecting even more tourists to visit this year, given the record number of tourist arrivals in the previous tourist year.

The program began with a tribute to renowned singers Zubeen Garg and Bhupen Hazarika, paying respects to their contributions to Assam's music and culture.
