He was immediately rushed to the Oil India Hospital in Duliajan for treatment. According to sources, Dutta is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital and is reported to be out of danger.Residents said that the leopard menace has been persisting for a long time in several parts of Duliajan, including Madhuting borkola and Tipling. Locals alleged that multiple leopards have been freely roaming these areas, creating an atmosphere of fear, particularly after sunset.AdvertismentVillagers claimed that the wild animals have been preying on domestic livestock such as cows, goats and dogs, spreading panic among residents. Many families have reportedly been forced to shut their doors and windows and remain indoors from early evening due to safety concerns.Anger has also been directed at the Forest Department, with locals accusing officials of remaining “inactive” despite repeated complaints. According to the allegations, no concrete steps were taken to tranquilise or cage the animal even as incidents of livestock killings continued.Following Wednesday’s attack, a section of agitated residents killed the leopard.
