The ADRE 2.0 recruitment had advertised 7,650 posts for Grade 3 and 5,000 posts for Grade 4. However, according to figures taken from government holdings displayed during the appointment process, only 6,347 candidates were appointed to Grade 3 and 4,378 to Grade 4. Additionally, 292 candidates from the Tea Tribe community were selected across both grades.

Despite these appointments, 1,108 posts in Grade 3 and 628 posts in Grade 4 remain vacant. The candidates have alleged that they have taken these figures directly from the government holdings displayed during the distribution of appointment letters and have now requested that these remaining vacancies be filled based on merit.

Addressing the media, one aspirant said, “It is our humble request to Himanta Mama. He has done a commendable job in providing government employment to Assam’s youth transparently and without any cost to us. Today, candidates who missed out on the final ADRE 2.0 merit list by a narrow margin together request that the remaining vacant posts be considered for appointment.”

Another candidate added, “During the appointment letter distribution, it was clearly displayed how many candidates were selected in Grade 3 and 4. The notification had mentioned 7,650 posts for Grade 3, but only 6,347 plus 195 Tea Tribe candidates were appointed, leaving 1,108 posts vacant. Similarly, many Grade 4 posts remain unfilled. We have no complaints against the government, which has acted fairly in appointing deserving candidates. Our only request is that the Chief Minister consider filling the remaining vacant posts so those of us who were narrowly left out can also be appointed.”

The aspirants stated that their appeal is based on official figures observed during the appointment process and requested that the vacant posts be filled swiftly to accommodate deserving candidates who missed selection by narrow margins.
