"Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday directed DGP Assam Harmeet Singh to closely monitor the aftermath of the Delhi Red Fort blast, following reports that some groups were supporting the attack and certain individuals in Assam were celebrating the incident.Advertisment Speaking to the media, CM Sarma said, The blast at Delhi"s Red Fort is highly condemnable. In the last two days, some individuals, reportedly doctors by profession, have come under the radar of Delhi police and intelligence agencies, with significant seizures of explosives. It appears there may have been a larger plot aimed at creating mayhem in the national capital. We hope that a clearer picture of the developments will emerge soon. He further emphasized national unity against terrorism, stating, Everyone in the nation should stand together against such terror activities. We cannot allow terrorism to flourish. We have also noticed on social media that some sections of people in the state reacted positively to the incident, even using happy emojis to celebrate, which is completely unacceptable. Such behavior indicates support for terrorism. I have directed the DGP of Assam police to check the backgrounds of these individuals, and if necessary, arrests will be made in Assam immediately. We will not allow terrorism to raise its head in Assam under any condition. Suspects and Faridabad Link Meanwhile, the suspected driver of the blast has been identified from CCTV footage as Mohammad Umar, a doctor at Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad and a member of the suspected terror module. Umar is believed to be a close associate of Adeel Ahmad Rather, a former senior resident doctor in Anantnag who was arrested last week. Reports suggest that the attack was “carried out in panic” following earlier arrests in Faridabad, indicating a reactive rather than meticulously pre-planned approach. Umar's family members, including his mother and brothers, have been detained for questioning, and a DNA test is underway to confirm his identity. Police raids continue at Al Falah University in Faridabad, while operations in Lucknow have targeted Dr. Parvez Ansari and other suspected associates. Jaish-e-Mohammed Link Confirmed On the other hand, investigations have pointed towards the involvement of the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Dr. Adil from Kulgam, associated with past JeM propaganda activities, is also under scrutiny. Agencies involved in the investigation include the Intelligence Bureau, National Investigation Agency, National Security Guard, and Delhi Police, collectively examining more than 1,000 CCTV clips. Blast Details and Casualties It may be mentioned that the tragic explosion near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening claimed 12 lives, with three more victims succumbing to injuries overnight, according to Delhi Police officials. The blast, which tore through a slow-moving Hyundai i20 during peak evening hours, left 25 people injured, four of whom are in critical condition. The youngest injured was 21 years old, and the oldest was 55, showing that the attack spared no age group. The horror of the incident was compounded by the fact that three of the deceased were recovered in parts, including limbs and the abdomen, making identification difficult. Delhi police confirmed that the youngest victim among the dead was a 30-year-old man, while the oldest was 55. Also Read: Jaish-e-Mohammed"s Hand? Investigators Dig Deeper"
