What Post Malone Gave Assam: A Concert That Turned Into a Kaziranga Tourism Rush

Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, the UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its iconic one-horned rhinoceros, has witnessed a surge in tourist arrival this week — boosted by global music sensation Post Malone’s debut performance in the Northeast.

The American pop star performed in Guwahati’s Khanapara on December 8 from 6 PM to 10 PM, marking his first-ever appearance in the region.

Several domestic and international visitors who attended the concert extended their stay to experience the wilderness of Kaziranga. Tourists were seen overjoyed as they caught close-range sightings of the world-famous one-horned rhino — an encounter many described as “once in a lifetime.” The majestic sight of elephants, deer, wild buffaloes and the vibrant mix of migratory and local birds further heightened their excitement.

Winter remains the most enchanting season in Kaziranga, and for many visitors, a standard two-to-three-hour safari feels insufficient to absorb the full splendour of the landscape. With rhinos grazing freely, elephant herds roaming the grasslands, and an astonishing array of avian life, the park offers an immersive experience unlike any other.

As one departing tourist remarked,
