You Won’t Believe What This Guwahati Couple Did Before Their Daughter’s Wedding

GUWAHATI: A philanthropic couple Reena and Sanjay Agarwal of Guwahati took inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" campaign and the "Beti Ka Ghar Basao" movement which aims to provide daughters with dignified marriage beginnings to conduct a mass wedding event for 27 underprivileged couples from tea garden communities near Dhekiajuli in Assam's Sonitpur district on Saturday.

The program delivered a strong social message which assisted young brides to start their married lives with both dignity and safe living conditions. The noble gesture turned a personal family milestone into a meaningful social mission which earned the Agarwals admiration for their dedication to community service.

The couples married at the Panbari Shiv Mandir community hall where they exchanged vows during Vedic chanting and traditional Hindu marriage ceremonies. The event included a visually impaired couple among the newlyweds which created an emotional moment that deeply affected all attendees.

Sanjay Agarwal from Pushpgeet Financial and Motilal Oswal Financial Services maintained close personal ties to the initiative. "The journey for these couples through heaven-made marriages blesses us to serve as their wedding journey partners,” He said declaring that this moment brings happiness to our whole family.

The family developed the plan before their daughter Priyasha's wedding because they wanted to complete a charitable project which they would start after her Kanyadan ceremony.

The family explained their intention to extend Kanyadan's spirit through their home into the greater community.

The Assam minister of Health and Family Welfare Ashok Singhal served as the main guest at the ceremony to observe the new couples while he acknowledged the Agarwal family for their dedication.

The family provided essential household items to help the couples start their new lives which included jewellery and clothing and kitchen utensils and steel beds and bedding and chairs and stand fans and customised sweets and cash gifts.

The community feast brought together almost 1000 guests who included Priyasha and her fiancé Nikhil. The event served as a life-changing experience for the couples and their families who attended the wedding ceremony.

People experienced gratitude because the action brought hope and dignity and happiness into their existence.

The Agarwals' project combined compassion and dedication, which made it unique in a poverty-stricken area where marriage costs create severe financial difficulties for families. The project demonstrated how people could turn personal celebrations into activities which brought about social transformation.
