One of the most popular and iconic OTT series in India, Mirzapur, directed by Gurmmeet Singh, is finally coming to the big screen. The crime drama starring Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi became a massive hit from its very first season and kept fans hooked till the end of season 3.

After season 3 ended, fans were eagerly waiting for Mirzapur Season 4. But the makers surprised everyone by announcing Mirzapur: The Movie instead. Ever since the announcement, excitement has been sky-high. Now, the wait is over, as the release date of the film has been officially revealed.

When will Mirzapur: The Movie be released?

On Thursday, Amazon, MGM Studios, and Excel Entertainment shared a new poster of the film and confirmed that Mirzapur: The Movie will release in theaters on September 4.

The poster shows a long line of SUVs moving on a winding road, giving full Mirzapur vibes. Sharing the poster, the makers dropped the caption,
“Ab dekhiye bhaukaal bade parde par. Watch #MirzapurTheMovie releasing at your nearest theatres on 4th September.”

All about Mirzapur: The Movie

The film will see the return of fan-favourite characters Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) and Guddu Bhaiya (Ali Fazal). To everyone's surprise, Munna Tripathi (Divyenndu), who died in the series, is also coming back.

The movie features a strong ensemble cast including Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Duggal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sonal Chauhan, Pramod Pathak, and Anangsha Biswas.

Vikrant Massey, who played Babloo Pandit in season 1, will not be returning. Reports suggest that his role has been replaced by Jitendra Kumar.

The film has recently completed shooting and is currently in post-production. Set in the town of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, the story revolves around gang wars, revenge, and the fight for power. Over the years, Mirzapur has become one of India’s biggest and most loved OTT franchises.
