Netflix Announces Mismatched Season 4, Final Chapter of Rishi and Dimple’s Story

Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf’s popular romantic series Mismatched is set to return for one final season, which will also mark the end of Rishi and Dimple’s journey.

The announcement was made by Netflix on February 3, 2026, putting an end to months of anticipation among fans, though the streaming platform has not yet announced an official release date.

Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf will reprise their roles as Dimple Ahuja and Rishi Singh Shekhawat, bringing closure to a series that has been a favourite with young audiences since its release in 2020. The final season is expected to premiere later this year, giving viewers enough time to revisit the earlier seasons.

Like the previous seasons, Mismatched Season 4 will stream exclusively on Netflix. Fans can watch or re-watch Seasons 1 to 3 on the platform ahead of the final chapter.

According to reports, the upcoming season will focus on second chances and unresolved emotions. After the events of Season 3, where Rishi and Dimple decide to part ways to focus on their individual lives, the final season will explore what happens when their paths cross again and old feelings resurface.

Netflix has also shared a brief teaser from the new season, showing Rishi and Dimple sitting together at Marine Drive in Mumbai, the same location where Season 3 ended. The teaser has a reflective and nostalgic tone, hinting that the final season will revisit unfinished conversations and emotions, leading towards an emotional conclusion.

Recap of the previous seasons of Mismatched

Mismatched began its journey by introducing viewers to its two central characters — Dimple Ahuja and Rishi Singh Shekhawat. Season 1 sets up their contrasting personalities right from the start. While Dimple is an ambitious teenager focused on building her career and chasing her dreams, Rishi is a firm believer in traditional values, destiny, and old-school romance.

The two first meet at the canteen of a summer tech program, where Rishi confidently refers to Dimple as his “future wife.” His comment instantly irritates Dimple, who throws cold-coffee on him. Despite the rough beginning, circumstances force them to work together as project partners. Over time, their initial friction turns into friendship, and eventually, romance. However, the season ends on a complicated note when an argument between them leads Dimple to share an intimate moment with another student, Harsh, creating a rift in their relationship.

Season 2 opens with Dimple dealing with guilt over her actions, while it is made clear that she and Rishi are no longer together. As the story progresses, Dimple gradually grows closer to Harsh, who supports her through her insecurities and emotional struggles. Meanwhile, Rishi begins to bond with Sanskriti, forming a new connection of his own. Despite moving on in different directions, both Rishi and Dimple slowly realise that their feelings for each other remain unchanged. The season concludes with the two acknowledging that they still love one another.

Season 3 takes a time jump and explores Rishi and Dimple’s relationship in a long-distance setting. The season begins with both of them studying at rival tech institutes, trying to balance ambition with love. As the story unfolds, they face several personal and professional challenges but ultimately decide to take their relationship forward by getting engaged. However, the happiness is short-lived. Dimple soon realises that she is not emotionally prepared for marriage or a committed relationship. The season ends on an emotional ending, with Dimple calling off the engagement, leaving a heartbroken and shocked Rishi behind.
