A court in Moradabad has issued a non-bailable warrant against her for skipping a court hearing in an old fraud case.AdvertismentThe case goes back to 2017. Ameesha Patel was hired by the event company Dream Vision to perform at a wedding. The company’s owner, Pawan Kumar, paid her Rs 11 lakh in advance. However, she allegedly demanded an extra Rs 2 lakh to travel to the venue. When he refused, she left without performing. An Rs 2 lakh cheque also bounced, leading to legal action.The Moradabad ACJM-5 (Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate) court has charged Ameesha under IPC sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 504 (insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation). Others named in the case are Suresh Kumar, Rajkumar Goswami, and Ahmad Sharif.Earlier, the court had ordered her to appear, but she did not show up. As a result, the non-bailable warrant was issued on February 15, 2026. She now has to appear by March 27, 2026, or she could be arrested.This is not her first legal problem. In 2022, a bailable warrant was issued against her for missing hearings. She later got anticipatory bail in January 2024 after appearing in court.
