Border 2 Box Office Day 1: Beats Dhurandhar, Opens Big with ₹30 Crore

Border 2 has taken a strong opening at the Indian box office, earning around ₹30 crore net on its first day. With this number, the film has crossed Dhurandhar’s opening-day collection of ₹28 crore and now stands among the top opening films in Bollywood.

For the last one-and-a-half months, Dhurandhar was ruling the box office. After the release of Border 2, the Ranveer Singh starrer saw a drop in its seventh week, though its overall performance has been very good. The grand opening of Border 2 clearly shows the huge craze for the Border franchise, as the first film is still remembered fondly by audiences.

The film has released on 4,500 screens worldwide and enjoys the advantage of a solo release. With no major competition and a long weekend ahead, expectations from the film were already high.

Strong start from booking

Border2 got a solid push even before release. As per early trade reports, the film earned nearly ₹17 crore from bookings. Many cinema halls reported good ticket sales in advance, proving that the buzz around the film was strong.

Republic Day weekend works in favour

The release timing has helped the film a lot. Border 2 was released on Friday, January 23, just before the Republic Day weekend. With holidays lined up, families and groups stepped out in large numbers. The film’spatriotic themematched well with the patriotic mood, adding to the footfall.

Border 2 box office Day 2 prediction

On Day 2, Border 2 recorded 15.51% occupancy in morning shows and collected around ₹2.6 crore till 12:30 pm. On Day 1, the film had earned ₹3.79 crore during the same time in the morning. Since the film is now in its first weekend, trade experts expect collections to go up during evening and night shows.

As per trade estimates, Border 2 is expected to earn ₹40–50 crore over the weekend and is likely to cross the ₹65 crore mark in the coming days.
