Developed by Banijay Asia, The 50 is the Indian version of the international format Los 50, which is based on the French show Les Cinquante. The reality show will start broadcasting on February 1, 2026, through Colors TV and JioHotstar.

What Is The Concept of The 50?

The show features 50 celebrity contestants who compete with each palace style venue located in Mumbai. Unlike regular reality shows, The 50 does not follow a fixed elimination pattern, making every episode unpredictable.

The 50 establishes its own elimination process because it neither uses traditional reality show methods nor maintains an elimination pattern that viewers can anticipate. The show centres on two main components, which include:

Players use strategic methods to advance through the game.

Players establish social partnerships that create both friendship ties and competitive rivalries.

Players engage in mental combat to achieve victory.

Players make choices that enable them to remain alive in the game.

Participants need to evaluate circumstances while developing partnerships and devising methods to defeat their rivals in order to remain competitive. The introduction of unexpected developments results in each episode creating an unpredictable outcome, which maintains suspense for both participants and viewers.

Where Was The 50 Shot?

The show is currently being filmed at Madh Island, Mumbai, where a large castle-like palace set has been built as a special construction.

The setting functions as the main element that drives the narrative of the show because a symbolic “Lion” watches over the contestants, which shows their behaviour in the competition.
