Guwahati: Dumper Rams Bike, Runs Over Woman in Jalukbari

A road accident on the Jalukbari flyover in Guwahati on Monday left a woman critically injured after a concrete-laden dumper ran over her.

According to reports, the woman was travelling on a motorcycle along with a relative from the Amingaon side when the accident occurred. A dumper bearing registration number NL01F1529 reportedly rammed into their bike from behind with great force.

The impact threw the woman onto the road. Following the incident, the dumper driver allegedly attempted to flee and in the process drove the vehicle over her body, causing severe injuries.

Jalukbari traffic police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured woman to a hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, local residents and bystanders chased the dumper for a considerable distance and managed to catch the driver. The enraged public reportedly assaulted him before handing him over to the traffic police.
