According to reports, unidentified miscreants allegedly cut through the fencing to gain entry into the premises of the auditorium — considered the largest cultural venue in Northeast India. Sources revealed that this was not an isolated incident; the thieves are believed to have carried out repeated acts of burglary inside the complex.

The construction company responsible for the project has lodged a formal complaint at Dispur Police Station regarding the matter. Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage to identify those involved.

Notably, the construction firm has yet to officially hand over the auditorium to the state government, raising concerns about security arrangements and accountability at the site.
