The arrests were announced in a statement from the Chief Adviser's Press Wing on Saturday.

The suspects, identified as Md Limon Sarkar (19), Md Tarek Hossain (19), Md Manik Mia (20), Ershad Ali (39), Nijum Uddin (20), Alamgir Hossain (38), and Md Miraj Hossain Akon (46), were apprehended during operations conducted by RAB-14 at various locations.

The incident occurred on Thursday night (December 18) in the Square Master Bari Dubalia Para area of Valuka. Police reports indicate that Das, who worked at a local garment factory and lived in the area as a tenant, was accused of making derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad.

A mob allegedly beat him to death, tied his body to a tree, and set it on fire.

Valuka police duty officer Ripon Mia confirmed the recovery of the body, which was sent for autopsy. The case has sparked concerns over minority safety amid allegations of blasphemy triggering mob violence.

Interim government Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunuscondemned the incident, emphasizing swift action by law enforcement. Investigations are ongoing.
