After the presentation of the budget by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi reacted to the document as a “highway of opportunities” that reinforces the nation’s ongoing reform agenda and lays out a definitive roadmap for achieving a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.

“Today’s budget is historic. It reflects the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. It strengthens the reform journey and charts a clear roadmap for Viksit Bharat,” the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi further praised Finance Minister Sitharaman for setting a new record by presenting the Union Budget for the ninth consecutive year.

He added that the budget provides fresh momentum to flagship initiatives such as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India), describing it as the foundation stone for the country’s long-term vision of development.

“This Budget is the foundation for our journey towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047. This year's budget will give India's reform express new energy and new momentum,” he added.

The Prime Minister noted that India is no longer satisfied with merely being the world’s fastest-growing economy. “The 1.4 billion citizens of India are not satisfied with being just the fastest-growing economy. We want to become the world’s third-largest economy as soon as possible. This is the resolve of millions of countrymen,” he asserted.

PM Modi further described the budget as a reflection of trust-based governance and a human-centric economic approach. He commended its balanced focus on reducing the fiscal deficit, controlling inflation, maintaining high capital expenditure, and ensuring strong economic growth.
