"Often, people from the NE feel unheard, and are most of the time profiled outside the Northeast. He claimed that this announcement is not aimed at confronting anyone. He added that they had a clear stand regarding their terms with the Centre, which he described as "good"."We are coming together solely for the development of the Northeast," he clarified. He added that each party would independently contest elections, ensuring autonomy within the collaborative framework.The development comes amid speculation over leadership shifts within NEDA, with Sangma positioned as a potential convenor, though the new platform signals a broader push for regional solidarity beyond existing alliances.Sangma, however, mentioned that the merger was open to anyone who is from the North East and had input.
