Extending greetings on the occasion of Ramadan Mubarak, the Council made the appeal during a press conference, urging local residents to take the initiative in ensuring better remuneration for religious scholars serving in mosques and madrasas.

The Council proposed that the monthly honorarium (Hadiya) of Imams be increased from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000. Similarly, it called for raising the salaries of Madrasa teachers from ₹15,000 to ₹20,000. The appeal also included muhaddiths, who are engaged in teaching and religious instruction.

Addressing the media, representatives of the Council emphasized that Imams and Madrasa teachers have families to support and are currently struggling to meet basic needs. They stated that due to their poor financial condition, many are unable to provide proper education and opportunities for their children.

The Ulema Council urged the community to come forward, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan, to ensure dignified livelihoods for those engaged in religious and educational services.
