He expressed confidence in the BJP's chances of forming the government in Assam in the upcoming assembly election, citing a positive response from the people. The Chief Minister announced several development initiatives for Hailakandi, including the proposed setup of an AIIMS in the Barak Valley. "Discussions are underway to set up an AIIMS in the Barak Valley, with initial talks having taken place and Minister Krishnendu Paul identifying land in his constituency," he said. Other announcements included the installation of an MRI machine at the Hailakandi Civil Hospital and approval of Rs 2 crore for the district sports association's playground. CM Sarma assured that the government would address concerns related to the closure of Assam State Co-operative Agricultural and Rural Development (ASCARD) Bank branch in Hailakandi and praised PM Modi's efforts to promote Assam tea globally, highlighting the gift of Assam tea to Russian President Putin yesterday.
