However, when the cheque was presented for clearance, it was reportedly dishonoured due to insufficient funds — a situation commonly referred to as a “cheque bounce”.AdvertismentThe complainant further alleged that after being informed of the dishonour, the accused requested him not to initiate legal proceedings and assured that the amount would be repaid in cash. Despite repeated assurances, the dues allegedly remain unpaid.The situation reportedly escalated when the complainant again approached the accused seeking repayment. The FIR states that the accused allegedly responded with verbal abuse and threats instead of settling the matter.Azahar Ali Ahmed is known to be closely associated with senior Congress leader Rakibul Hussain.
