Assam: Cybercrime Allegations Surface Against Nagaon District Youth Congress President

Nagaon: Serious allegations of cybercrime and financial fraud have surfaced against Azahar Ali Ahmed, the President of the Nagaon District Youth Congress, with claims that he misappropriated ₹1.30 crore through fraudulent means.

According to allegations brought forward by the complainant, Azahar Ali Ahmed is accused of collecting ₹1.30 crore in the name of several educational institutions located outside the state. The funds were allegedly collected under false pretenses and diverted through digital transactions.

It has further been alleged that significant amounts of money were transferred through a Customer Service Point (CSP) in Lakhimpur as part of the operation. Investigators are reportedly examining the financial trail linked to these transactions.

In addition to the cyber fraud charges, Azahar has also been accused of collecting money from individuals by promising them jobs. These claims have intensified scrutiny over his activities and raised concerns among party members and the public.

A person identified as “Moina Master” from Juria is also reportedly involved in the alleged scam, though details regarding his specific role remain unclear at this stage.

The victim has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Azahar at Nagaon Sadar Police Station. Police sources indicated that an investigation is underway to verify the allegations and determine the extent of the alleged fraud.

Azahar Ali Ahmed is known to be closely associated with Rakibul Hussain. However, no official statement has yet been issued by either Azahar or the Youth Congress regarding the matter.
