Assam: Triple murder shocks Nagaon, man kills wife and two daughters

A heart-rending and gruesome triple murder has sent shockwaves across Dhing after a man allegedly hacked his wife and two young daughters to death with an axe late at night.

The horrific incident occurred at Kachkati in the Shalguri area of Dhing at around 1 a.m. According to sources, the accused, identified as Imdadul Islam, attacked his family inside a single room, repeatedly striking them with an axe.

The victims have been identified as Imdadul’s wife, Tajmina Khatun, and their two daughters, Arhan Hasan alias Moni and Dilhan Hasan alias Rani. All three reportedly died on the spot due to the severity of the assault.

After committing the crime, Imdadul allegedly raised an alarm himself, shouting and alerting nearby residents. Hearing the commotion, local people rushed to the spot, apprehended him, and later handed him over to the Dhing police.

Police teams reached the scene soon after and launched a preliminary investigation. The bodies were recovered from the house and further legal procedures are underway.

The motive behind the brutal killings remains unclear and is currently under investigation. The incident has sparked widespread shock, fear and outrage in the entire area, with residents struggling to come to terms with the horrific act.
