Developed under the initiative of the Assam government, the project has been constructed at an estimated cost of ₹222.54 crore with the objective of transforming the birthplace of Guru Srimanta Sankardeva into an international tourism destination.AdvertismentAlthough the project was inaugurated on December 29, 2025, by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, it was not made accessible to visitors at that time as some construction work remained incomplete. Following the completion of the remaining works, the Nagaon district administration has now decided to open the site to visitors and issued an official notification in this regard on Friday.The district administration has urged visitors to strictly adhere to a set of guidelines while visiting the Avirbhav Kshetra. The visiting hours have been fixed from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and the entry of all vehicles within the premises has been prohibited. Carrying food items, smoking, consumption of intoxicants, gutkha, or pan is strictly banned inside the complex.Visitors have also been advised to wear traditional attire and maintain silence, decorum, and discipline during their visit.
