The four-day cinematic celebration will be held from 22 January to 25 January, promising a rich and diverse showcase of films from across Asia.AdvertismentThe festival is being organized by Trending Now Media, with support from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). With a strong institutional backing, the event aims to strengthen Guwahati’s position on the Asian cultural and cinematic map.A total of 27 carefully curated films will be screened during the festival, offering audiences a window into contemporary Asian storytelling. Films from 10 Asian countries, including Vietnam, Mongolia, South Korea, Japan, and China, will be part of the lineup, reflecting the creative depth and cultural diversity of the region.Adding prestige to the event, legendary Indian filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli will grace the festival as the chief guest, drawing attention from film enthusiasts, critics, and creators alike.The festival also places a strong emphasis on regional voices. Films in Assamese, Karbi, Bodo, Mising, Nepali, and several other languages will be screened, highlighting the linguistic and cultural diversity of Northeast India and giving a platform to stories rooted in the region.Interest in the festival has been overwhelming, with 200 film entries received, including 90 submissions from outside India. From these entries, eight outstanding films will be selected and forwarded to the prestigious Indian Panorama section, offering filmmakers a significant opportunity for national recognition.To encourage excellence, the festival will also present cash awards to winning films.
