According to complaints, matric examinees from government and provincialised schools were barred from entering the examination centre while wearing ordinary warm clothing. This restriction reportedly forced several students to appear for the examination in cold conditions, causing significant discomfort.

In contrast, parents have alleged that students from private schools were allowed to enter the examination centre without undergoing any dress checks or facing similar restrictions, raising serious questions about fairness and uniform enforcement of rules.

Parents have voiced concern that the denial of warm clothing during cold weather could adversely affect the health of many government school students. They fear that illness resulting from exposure to the cold may prevent some students from appearing in upcoming examinations, thereby impacting their academic future.

Strongly condemning the decision taken by the examination centre authorities, parents have demanded an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident. They have also called for strict action against those responsible, urging authorities to ensure that such discriminatory and anti-student decisions are not repeated.

Emphasising that equality and justice should be the cornerstone of the education system, parents said that witnessing such discrimination at an examination centre is deeply troubling and undermines the principles of fairness in education.
