Umrangso set to soar as Falcon Festival returns with bollywood stars

The much-anticipated 11th edition of the Falcon Festival is set to take place from December 12 to December 14, 2025 at the scenic golf field in Umrangso. This year’s festival promises a vibrant mix of music, culture, and environmental awareness. 

Star-studded concerts headline the event

Organizers have confirmed that the festival will feature headline performances by leading Bollywood singers:

On December 12, the festival’s opening night, acclaimed playback singer Vishal Mishra will take center stage, making what is reported as his first live concert appearance in Northeast India. 

On December 13, soulful voice and popular melodies from Shilpa Rao will charm the audience. 

The festival will culminate on December 14 with a performance by energetic and well-loved Bollywood singer Nikita Gandhi, promising to end the three-day celebration on a high note. 

According to the convenor of the festival committee, the event will also spotlight local talent and regional cultural performances, making it a blend of mainstream music and indigenous culture. 

More than just music — A celebration of nature, culture & heritage

Originally started in 2015, the Falcon Festival was created to raise awareness about the migratory Amur Falcon, which uses Umrangso as a stop-over site during its long migration from Siberia/Northern China to Southern Africa. 

Over the years, the festival has evolved into a grand cultural extravaganza. Besides concerts, the festival grounds will feature a variety of attractions: tribal and folk dance performances, handicraft and handloom stalls, traditional food, local cuisines, adventure and outdoor experiences, nature-themed exhibitions, and more — allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the unique tradition and natural beauty of Dima Hasao. 

In the context of growing interest in eco-tourism and wildlife conservation, the festival aims to combine entertainment with environment-friendly practices and community participation, offering an experience that goes beyond typical music events.
