Assam: 26-Year-old Woman Killed as Ambulance Runs Over Scooter in Guwahati's Kahilipara

Guwahati: A road accident in the Kahilipara area of Guwahati, Assam, claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman on the spot after the scooter she was travelling on collided head-on with an ambulance.

The deceased has been identified as Luna Bharadwaj, a resident of Bongaigaon district.

As per reports, the woman was a resident of Bongaigaon and a law graduate. She was supposed to join a bank very soon.

The accident occurred when the scooter and the ambulance crashed into each other, resulting in the immediate death of the young woman.

Another youth, Achyut Baruah, who was also on the scooter, sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition.

He has been admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.

Achyut Baruah, a resident of Jatia in Guwahati, originally hails from Dergaon in Golaghat district.

Police have currently initiated an investigation into the cause of the collision. Further details are awaited.

The police are currently assessing the circumstances of the accident to trace any possible traffic law violations by either of the vehicles.

However, some locals alleged that the ambulance was being driven rashly but did not exactly provide proper details to the allegations.
