Addressing reporters in Lakhimpur, the Chief Minister stated that Naba Kumar Doley will be the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate from Dhakuakhana, while Manab Deka has been finalised as the party’s nominee from Lakhimpur

Sarma underlined that his approach to naming candidates would be based on certainty rather than political conjecture. “I do not believe in giving hints. Wherever I am sure, I will say it directly,” he said. Referring to his earlier visit to Dhakuakhana, he noted that he had already named Naba Kumar Doley there. “In the same manner, today in Lakhimpur, I am stating clearly that Manab Deka will be our candidate,” the Chief Minister added.

He further indicated that additional candidate announcements would depend on his assessment of the political climate in other constituencies. “If, after going to Ranganadi, I find the atmosphere suitable, I will say it openly. If not, I will refrain from doing so,” Sarma said.
