As per details available, a man from Doboka has alleged that he was betrayed by a friend after he sold him agarwood (oudh) worth Rs 15 lakh on credit.

The man identified as Islam Uddin has claimed that about a year and a half ago, he had sold agarwood worth Rs 15 lakh to a person named Imran Hussain.

Islam claimed that he gave the wood to Hussain on credit for about two months. However, even after more than a year, Hussain failed to pay the money.

Since both were friends, Islam said that he did not asked the money as he thought there might have been some problems, but then as days passed, he (Islam) needed the money. “I asked him for the money as I had some urgent needs, but he failed to do so”, he said.

He further added that on following up further, he found out that Hussain had left for Dubai.

“I was further humiliated on social media by Hussain, who labelled me as a thief for asking for my money. He has defamed me through videos”, he said.

Islam claimed that he was forced to file FIRs in Murajhar and Doboka Police Stations after multiple attempts to contact Hussain failed.

A local familiar with the incident said that both of them have also been engaging in a digital battle on social media, where both had been uploading videos against one another. However, recently both had agreed to delete the videos from internet but later the issue led to police being involved.

Hussain was not available for comments on the matter. The story will be updated after Hussain responds to queries.
