The “Chief Minister’s Jeevan Anuprerna Scheme” was inaugurated by the Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. This scheme will benefit 2,112 research scholars as they will be provided a one-time financial assistance of Rs 25,000 each. The amount sanctioned for the special-abled scholars is Rs 40,000.

The state government is confident that the scheme will promote and attract academic research, and the youth of Assam will be encouraged to pursue higher studies.

Along with that, the Assam government has also formally initiated the “Chief Minister’s Jeevan Prerana Scheme” that aims to support the graduate and postgraduate pass-outs. Under this scheme, a total of 48,319 eligible candidates will receive an amount of Rs 2,500 every month for the duration of one year in order to financially support their preparation for employment opportunities.

According to officials, the schemes are particularly chalked out to ease economic hardships faced by young scholars and job seekers, particularly those who are preparing for competitive examinations or pursuing advanced research as career options.

CM Sarma said, “Assam has a significant youth population, with over 52 lakh voters below the age of 35, according to 2026 data. The schemes and initiatives are a part of a wider strategy to properly channel Assam’s demographic advantage towards skill development and employment readiness.”

It may be mentioned that the announcements were made at a formal event held in Guwahati. Government representatives indicated that the schemes would be implemented through designated departments, with funds transferred directly to beneficiaries.
