SHOCKING: Assam Man Held After Allegedly Hiring Rapido to Dispose of Child’s Body in Brahmaputra

Guwahati: In a shocking incident that has just unfolded on GS Road in Assam's Guwahati city, a man was apprehended by the police for allegedly attempting to dispose of a young child’s body in the Brahmaputra River.

What’s more bizarre and unusual is that, as per the preliminary reports, the accused individual had hired a Rapido bike taxi to carry out the horrendous act.

Reportedly, the person even offered the Rapido rider extra cash in order to assist him in disposing of the child’s body in the river. The plan, however, did not progress accordingly and was thwarted due to the alertness and prompt action of the Rapido driver, who grew increasingly suspicious of the circumstances and intervened.

Police sources further indicate that the man had transported the child’s body to GS Road before hiring the bike taxi for the alleged disposal. Upon realising something was amiss, the driver reportedly refused to comply and ensured that the matter was brought to attention, leading to the man’s detention.

Upon preliminary investigation, the accused man has identified himself as the father of the deceased child. However, officials have stated that this claim has not yet been independently verified. The identity of the child and the exact cause of death also remain unclear at this stage.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter in order to ascertain the facts surrounding the sensational incident.
