Assam Physiotherapist Found Dead Near Rented Home in Odisha's Cuttack

Cuttack: A physiotherapist from Assam was found dead near his rented accommodation in Olatpur village, Cuttack district, Odisha, on Thursday morning.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Ruhan Kakati from Morigaon, Assam.

His family members told the media that Kakati had relocated to Olatpur nearly four years ago after completing his physiotherapy studies in Assam. He had joined the Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) for an internship and continued residing in the area afterwards, practising physiotherapy locally.

An individual living on the same campus reportedly noticed him lying on the floor near the premises early in the morning. He immediately informed the local police.

Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. It was further claimed that he was living alone at the time of the incident.

Cuttack (Rural) Superintendent of Police Vinit Agrawal told the media that the exact cause of death is not yet known and that they are awaiting for a post-mortem examination reports.

Police officials also suggest that they suspect the possibility of the deceased dying fram fall. Investigating the incident site, the police found that Ruhan may have fallen from the second or even the third floor the night before. However, police said that they are investigating all angles, including murder and suicide.

Further investigation is being carried out.
