Guwahati:Assam Police have dealt a major blow to the drug trade in Cachar district, seizing 20,000 Yaba tablets and arresting four alleged drug peddlers in a recent operation.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared details of the crackdown on social media, stating that the seizure has resulted in an estimated loss of ₹3 crore for the drug mafia. He praised the police for dismantling what traffickers believed was a safe haven for illegal narcotics.

“Yaba dealers thought Cachar was a safe hideout, but @assampolice ensured it was ‘Game Over’ for them,” the chief minister wrote on X (formerly known as twitter). “20,000 tablets seized, four arrested and a ₹3 crore ‘loss report’ for the drug mafia. In Assam, the only thing getting ‘high’ is our commitment to a drug-free future.”

Further Investigations are underway.
