Despite recent losses in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, UPPL remains steadfast in its commitment to the region’s development. On Friday, following his oath-taking as a Member of the Legislative Council Assembly (MCLA) at the BTC Conference Hall, UPPL President Pramod Boro reaffirmed the party’s dedication. “Our focus remains on serving the people of Bodoland with unwavering commitment, irrespective of political challenges,” Boro stated.

The political scenario in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) has undergone significant changes after the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), led by Hagrama Mohilary, secured victory in the recent BTC elections. Though not officially confirmed, the BPF’s alignment with the NDA appears evident, particularly with the recent inclusion of BPF MLA Charan Boro in the Assam Cabinet.

Reports suggest that the BPF-led BTC administration may allocate two Executive Member positions to representatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and nominate Bijitgwra Narzary as Deputy Speaker of the BTC Legislative Assembly, hinting at possible power-sharing arrangements within the NDA framework in Bodoland.
