In a significant development for cricket in Assam, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia, accompanied by newly-elected Secretary of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Sanatan Das and Vice-President Ramen Dutta, visited the hometown of India's World Cup-winning cricketer Uma Chetry in Bokakhat.

During the visit, the dignitaries announced a slew of initiatives to promote cricket in the region, including the construction of a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Razabari, Bokakhat, in collaboration with the ACA. The stadium will boast five high-quality turf wickets.

The Bokakhat District Sports Association's playground will also be renovated by the ACA to create a world-class cricketing facility. The ACA's efforts aim to nurture young cricketing talent in the region and provide them with top-notch infrastructure.

Atul Bora, President of the Bokakhat District Sports Association and Minister, warmly welcomed the BCCI Secretary and other dignitaries, expressing his gratitude on behalf of the people of Bokakhat.

Devajit Saikia praised the contributions of Uma Chetry to Indian cricket and announced the BCCI's commitment to promoting cricket in Assam. The visit is expected to give a significant boost to cricket in the region.
