Ex-IAF Officer Allegedly Targeted in Honey-Trap by Pakistani Agents

Tension gripped Patiachuburi in Assam's Tezpur as local residents staged a protest outside the residence of Kulendra Sarma, a retired Indian Air Force employee, demanding strict action against him amid shocking allegations of links with Pakistani intelligence agencies. 

The demonstration, which included dharnas and calls for punitive action, reflects widespread local outrage over the matter.

Sarma, a former officer of the Indian Air Force, is facing serious accusations involving national security breaches. 

According to police sources, he is alleged to have shared sensitive information and official documents with a Pakistan-based intelligence outfit. Reports indicate that he leaked confidential details related to Tezpur Airbase to foreign operatives and maintained social media contacts with two Pakistani nationals, falling into what authorities describe as a honey-trap.

Furthermore, sensitive information is alleged to have been transmitted through WhatsApp to foreign handlers.

The Tezpur Sadar Police have registered a case against Sharma under Sections 147, 148, 152, 238, and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (FIR No. 785/25). Investigations are ongoing, and Sarma’s mobile phone and laptop have been sent for forensic analysis under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Varun Purkayastha.

The unfolding developments have created a tense atmosphere in Patiachuburi, with residents socially ostracizing Sarma and demanding justice. Protests and dharnas outside his residence highlighted the gravity of the situation and the strong sentiments of the local community.

Senior police officials have confirmed that the investigation aims to determine whether Sarma has collaborated with foreign agents in anti-national activities, whether his alleged involvement stems from honey-trapping or financial inducements, and the extent of his connections with Pakistani operatives. The case has also raised broader concerns about the potential presence and activities of foreign intelligence agencies in Assam, prompting authorities to remain vigilant.

The Tezpur Police continue to probe the matter thoroughly, while the local community watches closely, calling for accountability and decisive action against any individual found to have compromised national security.
