Facing FIRs, Sikha Sarma Casts CM as Arjun, PM as Krishna of 21st Century

Guwahati: Controversial social media personality Sikha Sarma, currently facing multiple FIRs over alleged derogatory remarks against the late music icon Zubeen Garg, appears to have adopted a different strategy online, invoking figures from Hindu mythology and praising political leaders.

Following the FIR lodged by Garima Saikia Garg at the Guwahati Crime Branch, several Zubeen Garg fan clubs have reportedly announced plans to file complaints against Sarma in multiple districts. Amid the mounting legal scrutiny, Sarma posted on social media on Monday, greeting followers with “Jai Shri Ram” and describing Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as the “Arjun of the 21st century” and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “today’s Krishna.”

In the same post, she praised Assam’s so-called “chariot of development” and concluded with slogans including “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Joi Aai Axom.” Netizens have noted the timing of the post, suggesting that the sudden invocation of religious figures and political praise coincides with growing legal action against her.

The reaction online has been mixed. While some users found the post humorous, others expressed skepticism, interpreting it as an attempt to curry favour or soften the impact of the legal proceedings.
