A shocking incident has shocked the Chamguri area of Sivasagar in Assam, where a seventh-grade student of Chamguri Higher Secondary School was allegedly assaulted by a youth and an E- rickshaw driver on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, the incident occurred while the student was on her way to school in an E- rickshaw. A youth, who boarded the vehicle midway, allegedly tried to molest her inside the E-rickshaw. The brave student managed to escape by jumping out of the moving vehicle near the school, about 100 meters away.

The school authorities have lodged a complaint with the Chamguri police, but the accused E-rickshaw driver and youth are still absconding. The incident has sparked widespread concern among students, parents, and the local community, highlighting the need for increased safety measures to protect schoolchildren.

The police have assured the public that they are investigating the matter and will take strict action against the perpetrators.
