Zubeen Garg’s Mortal Remains to Arrive in Guwahati on Sunday Morning

The mortal remains of Assam’s beloved singer Zubeen Garg, who tragically passed away in Singapore, will arrive in Guwahati on an early morning flight.

Upon arrival, his body will be taken to his residence in Kahilipara, where it will be kept for one hour. During this time, only family members will have the opportunity to pay their respects to the iconic artist.

Following this private moment, Zubeen’s mortal remains will be moved to Sarusajai Stadium, where the people of Assam can offer their tributes to the cherished singer.

The date and location of Zubeen Garg’s final rites will be determined based on the family’s decision, ensuring that the process reflects the sentiments of his loved ones and the people of Assam.

Zubeen Garg, who was in Singapore for the North East Festival, drowned while swimming in the sea. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that they confirmed the incident occurred as Zubeen Garg had not worn a life jacket while swimming.

There were several conflicting reports of his death initially, but to find the exact cause, the Assam CM said that an investigation has been initiated. All persons involved during the incident, including organisers of the North East Festival, would be questioned.

His most mortem was completed on Saturday morning, following which his remains were handed over to a team accompanying him, including Shekar Jothi Goswami, Sandeepan Garg, and his manager, Siddharth Sharma, with support from Indian Embassy officials.
