Border 3 Is Happening, Confirms Bhushan Kumar

After the massive success of Border 2 at the box office, producer Bhushan Kumar has confirmed that Border 3 will definitely be made. He said the decision was easy because Border is a very big and loved film franchise.

Border 2 was released just before Republic Day 2026 and had an excellent opening. The film earned over ₹100 crore in its first three days, beating last year’s biggest hit, Dhurandhar. This showed that Border 2 could become even bigger than expected.

On January 26 (Republic Day), the film collected its highest single-day amount of ₹59 crore. The strong earnings were helped by the film’s patriotic theme, which connected well with the national holiday. After that, collections dropped slightly, with around ₹20 crore earned on Tuesday.

In a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Kumar talked about a separate film he was making with Anurag. He said, "We are doing a joint venture (a different film) with his company and my company. He’ll be directing, and it will be something new. Border 3 will happen in due course."

On the possibility of Border 3, further, he added, "Obviously, it is such a big franchise; Anurag has worked so hard to rebuild it. If you bring something back after almost 30 years and it is getting so much love, we will definitely take it forward."

While JP Dutta directed the original Border (1997), Border 2 was directed by Anurag Singh; the director of Border 3 has not been announced yet.
